Opportunity abounds here at the Blackburn Community Centre.  The quality and quantity of our programs offered in our neighborhood depends soley on our volunteers.  It doesn't take a lot of time to make a big difference.  Make the best use of your time by helping others.  Let's make Blackburn the best community to live in!

The Blackburn Community Association has room for everyone to volunteer.  We would love to hear your ideas of how you might like to lend a hand or we help you find a opportunity.  Here are a few areas you might  be interested in:

Program Leaders  New leaders are always encouraged and welcome!  This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in leadership skills.

Board of Directors positions
* Secretary: This director will work with the Administrator to prepare meeting agendas and will maintain meeting minutes. As a director you would attend monthly board meetings.

* Membership Director: This director is responsible for all aspects of building and maintaining the Community Association memberships including a welcome call to new members, preparing cards, maintaining list, and promotion at community events.
* Program Director: We are currently seeking a mature person to join the Board of Directors as a program director. In this position, you would oversee the running of programs, registration nights and assist in the development of new programs. If you would like to apply for this position, please forward your name and number to the Blackburn Community Centre, at 963-3292.
* Concession Director: This director coordinates the operation of the concession during community events and includes scheduling volunteers, preparing menus, purchasing food and supplies. Food Safe Certificate is necessary.
* Volunteer Coordinator: We need a volunteer to keep community members informed of the variety of opportunities available to volunteer for. Contact would be made by phone, website and through the newsletter.
